Chicken Tetrazzini

The combination of chicken, mushrooms, cheese and spaghetti makes this baked recipe absolutely irresistible.

  • 225 gm spaghetti
  • 60 gm butter
  • 225 gm onions
  • 225 gm mushrooms
  • 500 gm sliced cooked chicken
  • 600 ml cheese sauce
  • 115 gm cheddar cheese, to sprinkle
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • For the cheese sauce:
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp cream
  • 1 Tbsp cheese
  • Salt, to taste


  1. Preheat the oven 180 degrees C.

  2. Boil spaghetti in salt water till al dente. Keep aside.

  3. Make cheese sauce by combining milk with a little flour, cream, salt and grated cheddar cheese in a pan. Stir till slightly thick. Taste for salt. Keep aside.

  4. Saute sliced chicken in 1/2 Tbsp butter in pan till cooked. Keep aside.

  5. For the main recipe:

    In a pan add butter and saute onions till pink. Add sliced mushrooms and cook till the water dries.

  6. Add the already prepared cheese sauce, boiled spaghetti and cooked chicken.

  7. Add chilli and toss well. Taste for salt.

  8. Place in a ovenproof dish.

  9. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake for 15 minutes or till the cheese on top melts.
