Arthritis is a musculoskeletal disorder that stiffens the joints making them unfit for normal body movements. Apart from being crippled and unable to move freely, Arthritis creates havoc with Arthritic pain and the patient suffers from almost unbearable torment.
There are remedies that reduce Arthritis and its pain, but unfortunately none of them are able to provide a permanent cure for Arthritis. Patients have to be very regular with their medication and exercises to remain mobile and lessen their pain. Diet is also an important factor to help patients suffering from Arthritis.
Although there is no diet cure for Arthritis, certain foods have been shown to fight inflammation, strengthen bones and boost the immune system. Adding these foods to the patient’s balanced diet may help ease the symptoms of Arthritis.

Cherries, the merry time fruit-
Cherries have properties to prevent frequent gout attacks. Cherries contain anthocyanin that has anti inflammatory effect. Regular intake of cherries will help.
Dairy products, absolutely essential in Arthritis-
Skimmed milk, low fat dairy products, yogurt, and cheese, are full of Calcium and Vitamin D, must for strengthening the bones and joints. Vitamin D helps in absorption of Calcium and boosts the immune system. Green leafy vegetables are also good supplement of Calcium and Vitamin D.
Broccoli, the food of choice in Arthritis-
Broccoli is rich in Vitamin K and C and contains sulforaphane that slows down progress of Osteoarthritis in a patient. Broccoli also contains Calcium helping in bone building.
Green Tea, a boon for arthritis patient-
Green tea is the richest source of polyphenols, antioxidants that reduces inflammation and cartilage destruction. It contains epigallocatechin 3 gallate that blocks production of joint damaging molecules.

Citrus fruits are richest source of Vitamin C, Oranges, Lemons, Amla, Grapefruit provides right amount of Vitamin C to prevent inflammation.
Whole grains, a major help in Arthritis-
Whole grains are richest source of fibers and lowers levels of C reactive proteins in the blood. It is associated with heart diseases, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
10. Beans, ideal for Arthritis-
Beans are full of fiber and C reactive proteins. It is also an excellent source of proteins. It improves muscle health and support system to musculoskeletal structure, reducing pain and improving movement.
Garlic the life booster-
Garlic is the most potent food from allium family, and checks early onset of osteoarthritis. Diallyl di sulphide found in garlic limits cartilage damaging enzymes in the body.
Nuts, the choice snacks for an arthritic patient-
Nuts are store houses for proteins, calcium, magnesium, zinc, Vitamin E and alpha linolenic acid. It is also full of fiber. All nuts are beneficial for the whole body. Walnuts, almonds, ground nuts, pistachios, pine nuts, all will do.
A little regularity in exercises, a conscious food chart will immensely help patients suffering from Arthritis pain.
